Valentine’s Weekend

I’d much rather eat in on Valentine’s Day and save my dining out for less busy evenings. In most non-pandemic years, getting a reservation seems to always be a hassle, and because of the crowds and prix-fixe menus the experience is often less than ideal. But what I wouldn't give for this pandemic to be over and be able to eat out with freedom?

With provisions from chef friends and local markets we managed a weekend of stay at home gluttony, complete with Sub Rosa bread, mussels and chorizo, foie Gras ganache and oxtail cannelloni, pasta puttanesca with fresh shrimp and roasted asparagus, fennel and Brussel sprouts. To top it off, pistachio shortbread and homemade creme brûlée.
